Just some quick notes...

(1) The instructions for the long file rename tool are displayed when you
    run the program.

(2) If you have changed your registry for Win95 so that long MSDOS
filenames are displayed without the '~', you may encounter some
problems when running the tool. To explain a little further,
normally long filenames such as "Black_Lamp.sid" appear as follows
    while in MSDOS:

        BLACK_~1.SID

but some people alter their registry so that it would look like this:

        BLACK_LA.SID

This causes some problems for the long file renaming tool (HVSC_2.exe).

If you haven't changed your registry so that it behaves this way, then
you have nothing to worry about. If you have changed your registry,
then it is recommended that you go ahead an run the tool. More than
likely, you will be told that some errors have occurred when the
program finishes (a small handful at most). Keep the error file,
hvsc_2.err. Once the HVSC Search Engine is updated, search for these
sids (based on their titles). The engine is located at the HVSC web
site (http://www.dhp.com/~shark/c64music/). The search results will
display the correct filenames. Rename the sids to these correct
filenames, and then you will once again live in harmony. :)
