This new unit will begin shipping in June and will be demoed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles on May 11-13. The CyberMaxx HMD is the only low cost, immersive virtual reality HMD. Its features include 3D stereoscopic color imaging, 3D stereophonic sound and triple-axis head tracking. A 73 degree diagonal field-of-view makes the CyberMaxx experience truly immersive -- like watching a 50-inch TV from less than 3 feet away. For those people who prefer a more conventional viewing distance of 8 feet (or who listen to their mom), using the CyberMaxx is comparable to having a 140-inch television screen! There are significant changes in the technology used for the new CyberMaxx. According to Max Minkoff, Vice President of Technology at VictorMaxx, "If you haven't seen the CyberMaxx recently, you haven't seen it at all." The new CyberMaxx uses 180,000 pixel, active-matrix, color LCD's, providing a 50% higher resolution. It features a completely new optical system which is clearer and brighter than earlier optics, as well as more comfortable and easier to focus. Tracking improvements to the CyberMaxx include 75 Hz update rate -- an increase of over 200% from older models, better filtering, checksum and reduced latency. Tracking communications have become more flexible to make the CyberMaxx easy to use for software developers. New video circuitry eliminates rescanning so the CyberMaxx works like a multi-scanning monitor. CyberMaxx supports all video modes up to 620 x 480 x 256 colors. The CyberMaxx is easy to use, as it connects directly to your computer's VGA card, serial port and sound card (optional). No additional hardware is required. CyberMaxx can also be used with a VCR or game console. Adapters for other platforms, beginning with the Macintosh, will be available later this year. There are more than 100 software developers working on CyberMaxx-Compatible software and over 15 CyberMaxx-Compatible games currently available. The new CyberMaxx will be demoed in various game publishers' booths at the E3 Expo, as well as the VictorMaxx Technologies meeting room, M34, located in the West Hall. Additionally, a giveaway will be held for a new CyberMaxx. VictorMaxx Technologies, Inc. is located at 510 Lake Cook Road, Suite 100, Deerfield, Illinois. Their toll free number is 1-800-815-6299.
