Press Release: Feb. 1 --
The staid corridors of Wall Street extended a bit further into the
wild-side of the future as Merrill Lynch premiered their new virtual
reality commercial on CBS. The spot depicts a game company working on a
new system which incorporates, as the focus prop item, the RPI
Entertainment Cyberchair(TM) single-user arcade motion base for simulator
rides and amusements. More amazing is the fact that this system is a fully
functional product that entertainment centers can purchase today. The
Cyberchair is a shipping product, invented by RPI, with prices ranging
from $3,000.00 to $62,000.00 depending on volume and configuration. The
Cyberchairs, featured on the Discovery Network and E! Entertainment
Network, are designed to be upgradeable and can offer a variety of
software experiences and shared user action via telephone interface. The
Chair features heat fields, rumble & thump processors, wind, spatial
surround sound, and other special effects. You sit in the high-tech flight
seat, don virtual reality glasses, grab the industrial grade joysticks and
blast off to the edge of a digital galaxy or to a telephonic flight game
with a friend in France. Additionally, RPI Entertainment VR Pods were
showcased at Universal Studios at the Billboard Music Awards, at most of
this Season's major NFL games and at Ceaser's in Las Vegas. The world's
first digital, umbilical-less, motorized, spherical gravity modifying,
portable theme park rides feature photo-real images produced from
high-definition video processors, spatial sound, full motion and more. RPI
Entertainment, of San Francisco, was the prime contractor and technology
designer for the ride systems. These prototype units are designed to be
upgradeable and, in the immediate future, can offer a variety of software
experiences, shared user experiences via telephone interface and various
motion options. Shipping systems range from $30,000.00 to $350,000.00
depending on configuration. RPI Entertainment is a US corporation with 20
years experience in 100,000 person+ media project design and production.
RPI Entertainment specializes in state-of-the-art, turn-key, Arcade,
Theater, Family Entertainment Center and Theme Park Ride and Pavilion
projects. The RPI attractions offer the ultimate in flexibility and can
be changed, modified and upgraded an infinite number of times. The RPI
Entertainment systems fit in standard attraction spaces without exotic
engineering requirements or giant technical rooms. RPI claims that they
cost less to produce and provide higher excitement than competitive
systems. The repeat attendance factor for the same one of each typical
RPI ride experience is extremely high. RPI provides experience development
partners for cost reduction and expanded promotional programs. RPI
provides content production to upgrade existing simulator rides and reduce
the weight while increasing capacity on those rides. RPI delivers motion
chairs, pods, stand-up units, flying rigs, sleds, cockpits and other
simulation rides and devices. RPI Entertainment is a venture-held
producer of software and entertainment rides and experiences. Patents
issued, pending and continuations, continuations-in-part and third party
licenses support the RPI group of companies. For more information FAX RPI
