At this month's meeting Perry Hoberman will be talking about his
work on the virtual brewey and the barcode hotel.

The Virtual Brewery is an immersive Virtual Environment experience
developed for Sapporo Beer of Japan. The exhibit is permanently
installed in the Visitor's Center of Sapporo's new office building
located in the Yebisu Gardens Place Development in the Ebisu area of
Tokyo - originally the site of Sapporo's Yebisu Brewery built in 1887.
The Virtual Brewery has been opened to the general public 6 days a
week since the complex opened in October.

Bar Code Hotel is an interactive installation for multiple
participants (or guests). By covering an entire room with printed bar
code symbols, an environment is created in which every surface becomes
a responsive membrane, making up an immersive interface that can be
used simultaneously by a number of people to control and respond to a
projected real-time computer-generated stereoscopic three-dimensional
world.

Perry Hoberman is an installation and performance artist whose work
employs a variety of technologies, ranging from totally obsolete to
state-of-the-art. Hoberman has exhibited and performed widely
throughout the United States and Europe.
