This route allows you to combine scientific work with some spectacular sightseeing activities and pleasant relaxation. The conference participants can enjoy the beauty of Ladoga and Onega Lakes, Neva and Svir Rivers, and the ancient Russian architectural monuments of Kiji and Valaam Islands during the exciting period of the "White Nights", when the sun does not fully settle down and daylight will not vanish. The Conference "Virtual Reality Technology. State and Tendencies" is held in conjunction and parallel with another Conference "Digital Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing 1995" on the cruise ship. Registrants are entitled to attend all sessions of both Conferences. Specific topics of Conference "Virtual Reality Technology. State and Tendencies" to be discussed should relate to: - theory, tools and techniques for modeling VR systems - graphical and acoustical rendering for VR - multisensory data fusion and sensualization through VR technology - software architectures for VR, distributed VR systems - phylosophical, methodological, psychophysiological and ergonomical issues of VR system design and VR-human interaction Working Language The working language of the conference will be English, which will be used for all printed materials, presenatations and discussions. Submission of Abstracts One page abstracts are requested and will be reviewed by the Scientific Advisory Board. Please provide the adress of the principal author. The preliminary program and information on accommodation and tour description will be disributed by the end of March 1995. Deadlines Submission of abstracts: January 31, 1995 Notification of authors: March 15, 1995 Camera ready manuscripts: April 30, 1995 Registration and Accommodation The registration fee covers full accommodation (room and meals), conference registration with proceedings, on-board entertainment (music theatre), excursions on Valaam Island, on Kiji Island and in Petrozavodsk, service and a guided one-day sightseeing tour in St. Petersburg prior to the ship departure (25. July, 21.00 p.m.). There are restaurant, cafe, some bars, and little shop with souvenirs on the ship. All rooms on the ship are two-bedroom type, size 2 x 4 m. There are a little table, WC, shower and conditioner in each room. Unfortunately you will have telecommunication servises in St.Petersburg and Petrozavodsk only.
