Three axes of rate gyro plus tilt sensors is a lot of junk to attach
to a helmet.  And the gyros make noise.  Could be done, but seems
messier than other approaches.  You could probably get adequate pitch
and roll data this way, although heading would need some compass-like
reference to prevent drift.
