Greetings,

Thanks kindly to all those who contributed to my VR slang request.

Seems to be quite a broad disparity in language use across the
different labs.  Points to the fact that we're all working away in
relative isolation, maybe.  And I thought everyone pretty much knew
everyone else. Very interesting.

For example, I was told that jack and portal are never used, except by
the sci fi crowd. But these are words we use here all the time because
we use Sense8's WTK which allows portalling, and we've been
experimenting with beam-me-over-there jacking for impatient users.

On the other hand scintillation is a term I've heard other folks use
pretty often in technical discussions, but one that has yet to enter
the vocabulary here.

Probably a healthy sign that the language is still so different across
the different shops. Maybe it means the technology is still
formulating itself out of the primordial stew.
