San Francisco VRG #5 Focus: "World-Building on the Desktop" Wed., April 21 7:00 pm at The Exploratorium's McBean Theater This meeting features a "multi-tasking," hands-on environment with brief presentations from several speakers followed by plenty of time for everyone to play with the systems and engage in one-on-one interaction. We've invited our speakers to bring a small inventory of their wares (software, books, and more) to sell direct to VRG'ns. Our special guests include master homebrewer Doug Flaxon (a REND386 kindaguy), John Kavanagh (vice president of Domark, which publishes the Virtual Reality Studio software), Michael Starks (owner of 3DTV, purveyors of "flicker" glasses, Powergloves, and a black box that adds 3D to standard video signals, and Mitchell Waite (Waite Group Press, which published _Virtual Reality Playhouse_ in 1991 and will release a book on REND386 this summer). As usual, we request a $5 donation to cover our costs, and the meeting will probably run until about 10 pm. We look forward to seeing you! The Exploratorium is located by the Palace of Fine Arts at 3601 Lyon Street and Marina Blvd. near Golden Gate Bridge; call 415-531-0360 for directions.
