RESEARCH FELLOW - GIS RESEARCH APPLICATIONS The appointee will be located on the Nathan Campus in the soon to be established Australian Centre of the Asian Spatial Information and Analysis Network (ASIAN). Although the appointee may serve as the Deputy Director of the Centre, the principal responsibility of the position will be to assist faculty in utilising the Spatial Information Infrastructure for Asian Studies in Australia (SIIASA) GIS databases in their social science research on various parts of Asia. Therefore a broad social science background is desirable in addition to the required Geographical Information System expertise. The position is a fixed term appointment for up to nine months, commencing as early as possible. It is expected that the position will be filled at Grade 1, although an appointment at Grade 2 is possible for an exceptionally well- qualified candidate.
