In July, further activity will be conducted in Japan, and during August, Loeffler will conduct research with UNIK, University of Oslo, and Norwegian Telecom Research (NTR), Norway. The project investigates the basis for multiple users located in distant geographical locations, to be conjoined in the same virtual, immersion environment. It employs hardware associated with virtual reality, and utilizes WorldToolKit, a virtual world development program, available from Sense8 Corporation. Technical demonstrations were conducted for the Expedition 92 Conference, Munich, Germany, and for the World Design Conference, Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, USA. The Ford applications include a virtual design studio, test driving track, and showroom.
