Rather than making technology understandable, I think it largely avoids technology. It is a book about the personalities and development travails, and about the potential impact on society. Which is fine, if that is what you are interested in. It is like a book on baseball that talks about player's personalities and contracts, the mysteries and attractions of the game, etc. But nothing about how to hit a curve ball. A fine book for a mass audience, and also for VR groupies, but not for technology-oriented interests. Roy Latham
