Can you elaborate on this safety issue? I was thinking of having a go
at a boom-ish style display, using B&W tubes initially, and then
moving to colour at a later date, but if there is a safety risk
involved I would like to know about it beforehand!

Is it something to do with higher levels of X-rays from the electron
hitting the phosphors, or maybe an increase in EM fields over B&W
tubes?

Please provide more info if you can.
