In this position, the candidate will work with other researchers to develop virtual reality applications for system design and human factors analysis. The individual will have primary responsibility for software development, and the integration and test of virtual reality systems. The systems will integrate proprietary software, hardware components (such as head-mounted displays, sensors and tracking systems, input devices and feedback systems), commercial software toolkits, realtime simulations and user interfaces. The systems will typically be research or prototype systems. The candidate should have a minimum of 4-7 years of experience, including computational geometry, graphics programming, simulation, and large-scale databases. The candidate should be an experienced C or C++ programmer, and should be familiar with the Unix operating system and Unix network programming.
