Most SVGA chipsets are much more programmable than most people realise, and can be directly programmed to generate a screen mode that has the correct timings and resolution for either PAL or NTSC. You then only need to run the RGB signal from the SVGA board through an RGB to composite video convertor, and there you go! I have used both Trident and NCR chipset SVGA boards for this method, and they both work very well. Most other chipsets should work. Most will also generate a correct interlaced signal. The RGB signal can be fed directly into the Panasonic LCD TV/monitor by tapping into the RGB signal between the video decoder chip and the LCD driver chip. In the ones I have used, it required the removal of three surface mount resistors. The composite sync signal is fed into the composite video socket. The end result is very good. The Panasonic LCD display has a much higher resolution and better colour/black level than the Casio displays, although it is rather more expensive.
