From: S.M.Clark@lut.ac.uk Subject: EVENT: VR videos sought for HCI'93, Loughborough, UK, Sept 1993 Date: Fri, 9 Jul 93 17:30:51 bst VR Videos ========= As those of you who read the earlier postings will know, there will be a Virtual Reality exhibition at the HCI'93 conference in Loughborough this September. In addition to the planned exhibits (of which there will be roughly ten) we would like to show video tapes of VR work from researchers around the world. If anyone has any video materials they would be willing to have shown at the conference could they contact me via e-mail? If neccessary, I can return tapes. The source together with a contact address for all tapes will be printed in the exhibition programme. Also, there are plans to locate a Mac with an Internet connection in the exhibition room in order to give people who don't normally use the Internet a chance to read sci.virtual-worlds. I am considering establishing a Internet-accessable 'virtual exhibition' on this Mac for the duration of the conference. Has anyone any suggestions for what 'exhibits' could be located on the machine? In it's simplest form the exhibition could simply be a Gopher database containing a description of the work on show together with (perhaps) short QuickTime video clips. An advance programme for the HCI'93 conference is available via FTP from ftp.lut.ac.uk in /public/hci93.
