Got a question...

Subject:	Sync up two video tapes to play back 3-D programming.

What I would like to know is if anyone has tried to absolutely sync up
two VCRs (i.e. frame 2314 of VCR A is displied at the same time frame
2314 of VCR B is) for stereo (3-D) viewing?  As I understand it, this
would be a step more the just "gen-lock".  To make it interesting I
would like to bound the problem with the following limitations.

First off, the price has to be controlled.  I am sure there are
professional VCRs or VTRs which can easily perform the above for tens
of thousands of dollars.  However, I would like to cap this project at
under $5,000.

Second, I propose VCR A to be a "dumb" VCR.  That is VCR A is an off
the shelf less than ~$300 VCR. VCR B's capabilities, on the other hand,
are open ended.  That is, VCR B could be a low end professional model
or a modified off the shelf model. 

Last, both tapes have been "stamped" with frame by frame information in
the vertical sync video interval. How else would you know which frame
went with which?  Also, this type of time stamp should be retrievable
from even the cheapest of VCRs.

Ok, that's it, has anyone ever tired this?  If I get any responses,
I'll gather them up and post a follow up.
