I went to the Taito game stadium last night in Shinjuku. They have a brand new Virtual reality game that is a space-ship ride where you fly and shoot at enemies. So, boring, right? Well, on this ride, you and up one more person are strapped into chairs like a roller coast in a capsule and then it is closed. You are in a real space ship. You fly this baby on a Gyroscopic rotation device like you see for Flight/Space simulators (or the move lawnmover man). It rotates 360o in all directions. It looks like you can really get whipped around. Also, the crowd outside can see what is happening on the 47" monitor on the outside of ship. It cost 500 Yen [about US $5] to play. I'm think of trying this tonight after Japanese Class.
