From: AKROPP@delphi.com Subject: SURVEY: High school student has general questions about VR Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1993 19:34:28 CDT VIRTU-L Hi- I am a high school student working on a report about Virtual Reality, and I have been unable to get an interview with anyone involved in VR in a company or elsewhere. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could take the time to send me answers to any or all of the questions below, as well as any other interesting facts. Also, it would be greatly appreciated if you could give me hints on some other places to search for info or to post these questions for a response. Please include your name so I can include you in my references. Thanks in advance-- Adam Kropp akropp@delphi.com Questions: ---------- 1) What are some of the major uses of VR technology today, both public and private, and where does most of the funding come from? 2) What are some of the possible future uses of VR? 3) What is the quality like now? (I wanted to go see the Virtuality game at UC Berkley, but they sold it three or four weeks ago! :-( Are there any other VR "experiences" in the Bay Area?) 4) Where is the technology headed? How fast? 5) When will VR reach the general public? For what uses? 6) How big of a part do hobbyists play in the development of VR technology today? 6) Any other interesting tidbits...(I am just getting into this area, and I want to know about it, not just for my report. Where is the best place to look for info?) --------------- *****Thanks again*****
