My, that last statement certainly is interesting.

Since you can't possibly mean that Usenet is equal to Computer Science
or that Usenet normally carries a large amount of weight when it comes
to figuring out just what's CS and what's not, you must mean either
that the act of building a toy "VR" system will help validate VR as a
recognized field of Computer Science, or that the fact that a lot of
undergraduates and other assorted net.denizens are interested in the
building of said toy system will help validate VR as a recognized
field of Computer Science.

You also seem to be implying that without either (at your option) the
building of the toy system or interest in the building of the toy
system, VR is and/or would be unable to validate itself as a
recognized field within Computer Science.

Wow.  You learn something every day.

Bob, feel free to nuke this posting; this silliness is getting on my
nerves but that's no reason to interfere with their fantasies.
