                      OOPSLA'93 Workshop on
                Object-Oriented Real-Time Systems Analysis
                           and Design Issues

A one-day workshop to be held at OOPSLA'93 on Sunday, 26 September 1993
in Washington, DC, USA.

PURPOSE

This workshop will explore issues surrounding OO real-time system development
methods (analysis and design methods issues only - No language issues). We
want to address, among others, the following issues:
	Modeling time;
	Modeling concurrancy;
	Time management;
	Performance of resulting system;
	Distributed process development;
	Dynamic processing requirements;
	Synchronous and asynchronous events;
	Modeling different types of constraints, such as:
		performance constraints,
		resource constraints,
		integrity constraints,
		reliability constraints,
		safety constraints,
		etc.;
	Modeling System Reliability;
	Modeling for Reuse in RTS;
	Modeling for integrity;
	Real-time classification;
	Lessons learned from the application of OO methods in the
		analysis and design of real-time systems

GOALS

The goals of this workshop will be:

o To list important issues in the application of OO techniques to real-time
   systems development.

o To show how to use OO methods to successfully analyze and design
   real-time systems.

Presentations will be made on opposing viewpoints and followed by a debate
session to air views of participants. (6 opposite views with 12 - 20 minutes
presentations)

All participants must submit, by e-mail, short position, lessons learned, or
experience papers. Papers must be submitted by July 30, 1993. Participants
will be notified by August 20, 1993. Those who wish to be placed on the
waiting list for observers should provide their name, address, phone, fax
number, and their e-mail.
