From: nestabro@nova.gmi.edu (Noel Estabrook) Subject: APPS: VR software/tapes needed Date: 17 Jun 93 15:40:09 GMT Organization: GMI Engineering&Management Institute, Flint, MI I have become involved in a state-wide to-do called Michigan Fest this year. For the first time, we are putting on a "technology booth" that is to contain various computer activities for children ages 3 to 16. Since I have an interest in Virtual Reality, I have volunteered to try to put together a station that uses VR. I am primarily interested in two things: 1. A video-tape (or tapes) on Virtual Reality that I can run in the background for people to watch (parents, kids waiting their turn, passers- by, etc) that can run in the background. I know I've seen some PBS shows on VR and there may be some other private productions out there that I don't know about. I just need to know how to get hold of them. 2. Any VR software (either a Demo that can run, or an actual program that one could interact with) that you may have or know of that we could use (either PC, 386 or above, or Mac software - we'll have both types of machines). 3. Any additional ideas you might have that would be useful. I do believe we have _some_ monies available to purchase, but donated software/tapes, etc (that would be returned) would be the best, as this is a volunteer endeavor (hint, hint - this could be a great way to test something new!)
