The June _Upside_ (with Jaron Lanier on the cover) quotes Jaron as
saying,

"The patents-pending portfolio is actually a lot more significant than
the patents-granted portfolio.  I can't say very much about the
patents pending, since that would be revealing confidential
information, but there are some doozies in there."

Given that previously VPL applied for European patents and that my
understanding is that European patent applications become public after
18 months, I wonder if anyone knows what these pending patents are all
about?
