Does anyone know where one can purchase libraries of 3d objects? These
would be used for WorldToolKit and/or bespoke software - the formats
that would be useful would be DXF or NFF and the objects would not
need to be textured.

If you know of such sources, where are they advertised? I have looked
in a variety of CAD magazines and the only things advertised in them
are PCs and graphics cards and hundreds of thrilling add-ons to
Autocad (but maybe I'm looking in the wrong magazines).

I am particularly interested in models of factory machinery but also
people / cars / shop and office equipment.

Ultimately we would want to bundle the objects with our software (so
they can't be too expensive - at least in bulk) but we'll burn that
bridge when we come to it and initially I'd be interested in hearing
of any sources, however expensive.
