       I have a few basic questions about Virtual Reality.  I would
  appreciate any and all responses.  (You people are the VR experts!)

       Who (what company, organization, individual) "created,
  discovered, invented" (which one is it?) Virtual Reality and
  WHY? (For what PURPOSE/INTENT)
       What are the current real-world applications of VR?
       I know there are tons of them, but specifically medical/
  educational/military/recreational applications.

       And, if you have the time (I figure that is the #1 factor
  which would prevent most people from responding) could you briefly
  state what special VR project/research you're working on?
