From: robert@cpuserver.acsc.com (Robert Grant) Subject: APPS: Multiverse-1.0 Date: 29 Mar 1993 19:09:37 GMT Organization: USCACSC, Los Angeles Hi everyone, I've received quite a few emails from people asking where they can get a copy of Multiverse-1.0. It is available from: ftp.u.washington.edu in: public/virtual-worlds called: multiverse-1.0.tar.Z A few words of caution: This software will successfully compile on an IBM RS6000. Mark DeLoura has experienced some difficulty compiling it on a DecStation, and I have provided him with an upgrade to hopefully fix his problem, if it does then I expect he will put this version in the ftp site. Basically, I don't know whether it will compile successfully on your machine. If you want to give it try, please do so. If you want to try and fix any compilation problems, then go ahead, put please mail me the fix, so that it can be incorporated in the next release/upgrade. Unfortunately I don't have access to an ftp site where I can quickly put a newer version - if someone can suggest one, that would be great (perhaps wuarchive.wustl.edu??) Good luck.... Thanks, Robert robert@acsc.com P.S. I'm currently working on release 1.1 which adds XDR support for heterogeneous client server compatibility. [Mod (Mark): The upgraded version is up, but my DECstation is still unhappy with it. However, I did get it to compile on an RS6000, with no difficulty whatsoever. Yay!]
