Hi everyone,

Seems as though people are having a few problems with compilation a
few people have tried to compile it with gcc without luck. As I have
access to a gcc compiler I tried to do it myself (should have done
this before, I hear people muttering! :-). This did reveal a few minor
problems, but on the whole things weren't that bad (lots of casting
warnings etc). Anyway, the thing compiled and ran after gcc
compilation, so now it's been compiled by two different compilers (OK,
OK, so they were both on the same box - but don't split hairs! ;-)

I've incorporated the bug fixes required and brought the Makefiles
into the 20th Century (they had cc hardcoded :-().

I've mailed Mark a copy - the version is now 1.0.1, but the directory
it creates is still multiverse-1.0 (just so you were warned) so if you
want to keep anything from the previous version make sure it's safe
before you untar!
