The Bad News.... :o( ================= Unfortunately, we are currently running into a major problem - volume. It appears that we need to have a production run of something like a 1,000 units to make this viable!!! I am still investigating ways we can shave the cost, but things are not initially looking good at the moment. The current working specification is a 10-sensor device (finger flexation), minimal signal filtering, and serial output at 9600bps as an 8-bit character datastream. Fear not; I will keep struggling on with the SmartGloveOne!! The Good News.... :o) ================== The good news is that the SmartGloveTwo is nearly ready! I know this sounds strange, but it's because this unit is a higher-end device and therefore less cost affected. This unit features a high-quality glove, 8-bit (you don't need any more, trust me) sensor resolution, between 10-16 finger sensors, DSP based signal conditioning (no need to do it in software!) and serial or digital outputs. The initial price for this unit is going to be about $3600 and I think you'll be impressed by the performance. If I can get 10 (ten) advance orders for this glove, we can immediately bring the price down to about $3200 and it makes development of the GloveOne easier. Final note... I already have US, Canadian, British and possibly Italian distributors lined-up for my products, so everyone can be assured they'll get localised support!
