From: Ossi Urchs Subject: Re: CONF: 3CyberConf Review, Austin, May 14-16, 1993 Date: Wed, 26 May 93 13:51:09 GMT Thanx Mark for your great, i.e. inspiring report from Austin. One question though came to my mind immediately when I read your line: What ifther's no such thing as a "self"? What if we are nothing but another database, for everybody else pretty hard ti distinguish from yet any other database. Maybe that's why we have to create a "representation" for ourselves, while in VR - because we don't even know how to distinguish ourselves from all the other databases. An idea I guess that most Eastern thinkers, historical and present, might share. An idea furthermore that might have striking impacts for future experiences of live in (not only Virtual) Realities.
