I think VR is a valid artistic medium.

The good `art' that I have seen expresses not only the artists control of the
medium(technique), but also some unconscious process in the artist (creativity,
aesthetic, genius, style) over which the artist has little control.

Where there is particular emphasis on the latter, VR has a role to
play in giving the artists creation some autonomy and a non-preordained
environment (interaction). Hopefully it will procede to suprise/inform its
creator. Art as therapy.
