 Doug Faxon and Mark Pflagging hacked up a glove and Rend386 to use as
a head tracker. They demo'd the system at the Spring Meckler show in
San Jose. There will be a write up on it in Linda Jacobson's "Garage
Virtual Reality" from SAMS (due in stores any day now). They didnt put
the receiver on the ceiling, but put two sensors around the monitor.
Only the orientation sensor was used for the head tracker. It was
glued to a base ball helmet. There was an onscreen cursor that tracked
with it. It worked basically as a joystick. When you looked to the
right, the cursor moved to the right and you turned. They also had a
cheap stair master hacked up to send out "UP ARROW" key strokes.
