10016) has the following announcement on page 8:

The advent of a virtual reality system for home use will not be
something shoppers will be able to take home with them this Christmas
shopping season.  It seems Sega of America won't be ready with its
system for pre-Christmas prime time.  Producing a system equipped with
ocular adjustment capability turned out to be harder than anticipated,
according to one source.  Sega plans to introduce the home VR system
next summer.
