The BBN SIMNET Stealth, which can fly around and observe
the SIMNET virtual world, plays tank and helicopter
sounds when you get near to one of them. They recently
added "3d" sound, where you can hear the origin of
the sound move from front to back as you fly past it.
Sound adds a lot to the immersive experience.
