I'm in the process of reviewing several VRML plug-in modules for
Windows 95 Web browsers for eventual use on our network. It's a major
hassle because every time I run the install program for one of these
plug-ins, it usually knocks out .dll and other files put in place by
other plug-ins or 3D browsers.

That means I can test them once. If I install a different plug-in, I
can't use the first one anymore to compare back and forth. And, lord
knows how many stray .dll and data files I'm creating. There must be
hundreds.

There must be a better way to manage multiple plug-ins without having
them fight each other for control. I even installed a plug-in for
Netscape that somehow made itself the default VRML plug-in for my
Microsoft browser too, but it auto-launches the Netscape browser so I
end-up with two browsers running. I'd love to know how that happened.
Anyone have a good management solution? Heck, I'd be happy if I could
just track which plug-in is creating which files!
