In addition, I suggest that you take a look at any CyberEdge Journal
form the past year or two. In every issue we feature real-life
applications of VR. In the current issue (Nov.Dec. 1996) we have a
front-page article on a very nice driving simulator used to evealuate
the skills of tank-truck drivers. Inside is an article describing a
psychotherapy application used to help people with poor body images.

Also, every year we award CyberEdge Journal Virtual Reality Product of
the Year Awards for applications, and never have any shortage of "VR
used for real work".

It is a shortcoming of our industry that more people don't know about
the excellent applications being used every day to solve real
problems. That's why we will feature many applications at our Virtual
Reality WorlWide conference next spring. Indeed, we will have a panel
discussion called "The 100:1 solution" wherre industry leaders will
talk about the big-time paybacks they have acheived with VR.

Virtual Presense's MIST VR is only one of many good applications: it
just takes looking a little harder to find them (or subscribing to
CyberEdge Journal!).
