Dave - you may know of Division, and our dVISE VR software which is in
use at the University of Washington. We have recently launched a
Windows NT version of dVISE which costs US$2,000 and is identical to
the SGI & HP versions we have been developing & selling for many
years.

dVISE does not require programming in C - although you can do so if
you wish. Unless you have some compelling and unique requirement for a
feature which dVISE does not include, then I would suggest that
programming is unnecessary, and would in that case be a waste of your
project development time: e.g., all that 'reinventing-the-wheel'
stuff.

dVISE does expect that you will have the geometry defined elsewhere
(since there are other companies who are *very* good at that, so why
not use the result of their development efforts?); we have a very
broad and very powerful set of tools for converting and optimizing
geometry, and the geometry can come from any major CAD package.
