The single greatest retardent to the growth of a VR industry is the
lack of investment capital to bring the many good and servicable ideas
to the point of becoming products and services.

Large companies _cannot_ continue to expect small companies to
shoulder all of the development burdens. If they do, there will be no
development to speak of; or at least, no clever development, only
over-priced junk that has to bear the vast overhead of the larger
companies and their governmental and private-sector customers.

Applications are abundant. I've even heard of a couple genuine
"killer apps," things companies or consumers would die for. They have
a snowball's chance in hell of ever seeing the light given the
ridiculous financial structure on which the "VR industry" resides.
