However more complex optical design requires a firm mathematical foundation and fairly precise construction if you intend to put your ideas into practise. You may find some text books on optics in your university library. Alternatively, if you know anyone who has some copies of 'PCVR' magazine (no longer published), there were a couple of articles on the concepts of optical design there. One of the most accessible suppliers of optics in the US must be Edmund Scientific Co. 101 E. Gloucester Pike Barrington, NJ 08007-1380 Tel: +1 (609) 573 6879 Fax: +1 (609) 573 6233 They have an extensive colour catalogue with a range of optics and equipment from high end professional to budget home use, and the catalogue also contains a variety of useful cut-aways explaining optics and their formulae.
