The successfull candidate will be expected to be an established researcher in the field of applied computer graphics with a strong record of publication in first-rate journals and a successfull current research profile in terms of income, students and contacts. The School has good working relations with major Scottish-based, world-leading computer games companies. It also has growing links in the virtual reality community with major international virtual reality researchers and developers. The School's emphasis is to build a strong, national and international centre for applied computer graphics based on its expertise and contacts. The new post of Professor in this field provides an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to direct this primary research work in a direction that will allow him/her, the School and the University to build on its expertise and become a major centre for graphics applications innovation. The School is currently strongly involved in Virtual Heritage (http://river.tay.ac.uk/~mctjns). It is expected that this will be a major field together with computer games. In addition there are strengths in programming and graphics.
