This release, which has been under development for the past 12 months, reaffirms RenderWare's position as the leading 3D graphics API. While our competitors are still struggling to match the performance of RenderWare V2.0, we have raised the bar yet again with a staggering 50% performance improvement (1). This allows RenderWare V2.1 to deliver 20 Mpixel perspectively correct fill rate on a P200. We have also reengineered the RenderWare device layer to ensure that where hardware acceleration exists, an application can transparently take advantage of it and have access to all of the features of the hardware. New in RenderWare V2.1 o 50% faster perspectively correct texture renderers o Optimizations for P6, MMX and Pentium II o Support for Direct Draw is now built in. o True RGB surface properties o API access to Z buffer o DOS, Windows 95, Windows NT (Intel and Alpha) and Power Macintosh versions available in a single SDK o Changes to the personal license to allow freeware and demo applications to be redistributed for no cost. o All devices now support 2 texture sizes. o Custom hardware drivers for maximum performance. o Generic Direct3D driver.
