Mobile Maps are realtime terrain maps that make use of recent graphics 
research for PC computers.  

Instead of flat polygon surfaces, the Mobile Map Viewer uses displacement 
mapped curved surfaces; and instead of single scale textures, our Viewer 
makes use of scaleable fractal textures.

A Beta release of the Viewer with some sample maps, including one of 
Kinshasa, Dem Rep Congo is available from:

Visitors who are interested in a chance of winning a custom Mobile Map of 
a location of their choice anywhere in the world (uses GTOPO-30 DEM data, 
AVHRR satellite data + DCW map data) should fill out the feedback
